SERVICES

I specialize in unique, fun images that don’t feel formal or conventional, with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community and creative portraiture. I don’t believe photo sessions should have lots of rules and constraints. I offer a laidback approach – I don’t limit the images I’ll give you, you’ll always have at least a couple hours with me, and you can change your outfit as many times as you want. You will always receive individually edited photos in both high-resolution and low-resolution.

I mainly shoot outdoors using natural lighting and simple light setups or in folks’ homes, offices, etc. which I’m happy to travel to. I do have studio lights and simple backdrops I can bring with me to indoor shoots if you’re looking for that studio feel, but I prefer to capture the authenticity of people in environments that feel more natural and tell a story.

For individuals or organizations with limited budgets, please contact me for more information.

Images are powerful, and having images that truly reflect who we are is vitally important. Having a queer photographer who understands what is important to you and how you want to be represented is a major part of feeling comfortable and excited about creating images of yourself, the way you want to be seen.

Transition Package

            -$400

            -3 sessions over a 1-year period

            -Free consultation

            -Images delivered via digital download

I’m proud to offer a package of three separate sessions to document any part of your transition you would like, whether that be pre/during/post, or anything else that feels meaningful. The sessions will be spread out over the course of roughly one year, every 4 months or so, to document your transition. This kind of documentation can be exceptionally meaningful for folks, and I’m happy to provide this service to those who may not want to take photos themselves, or maybe haven’t even thought of it as an option.

Other Services

Standard Headshot / Portrait Session

            -$225

            -Free consultation

            -Up to 2 hours

            -Up to 3 locations

            -Unlimited outfits

            -Images delivered via digital download

Whether you’re looking for a simple headshot or a more involved portrait, the price is the same – because you get the same service and dedication no matter which one you’re looking for. Even if you just need a simple headshot, you’ll still have me for the same amount of time, and I won’t limit your session to only certain “types” of shots. The same is true for a more involved portrait session. No need to complicate things; at the end of the day, I just want you to go home with images that make you feel great.

Couples Session

            -$325

            -Free consultation

            -Up to 2 hours

            -Up to 3 locations

            -Unlimited outfits

            -Images delivered via digital download

This is a great bargain - again, I don’t limit our sessions to any particular “type” of photo, so during a couples session, if you want to get in some headshots or portraits of each of you? Let’s do it. That makes this package a steal compared to getting two individual portrait sessions!

Creative Portrait Session

            -$400

            -Free consultation

            -Up to 3 hours

            -Up to 2 locations

            -Unlimited outfits

            -Images delivered via digital download

This is where it gets *really* fun. A creative portrait is a portrait that is more unique than a standard portrait. This is not the type of portrait you would necessarily use for a professional headshot; this is the type of portrait you use to feel powerful, inspiring, enchanting. It can be anything you want. It’s experimental territory, so it could be anything from playing with extreme light and shadows to create specific effects to cosplay in the woods! Do note that if any extra equipment or extreme post-processing is needed, there will be an upcharge to be discussed during our consultation.

FAQ

Do you do family/newborn portraits or weddings?

I don’t, but my wife over at Coe Photo does!

How do I reserve you for a session?

Just shoot me an email or fill out my contact form. I’ll get back to you within 24-48 hours and we can figure out all the details for what you’re looking for. Once we decide on a date, time, and location, you’ll sign a contract and pay the session fee, and you will be officially booked!

When are you available?

My schedule can vary, but generally I am available Monday – Saturday during normal business hours. This can be flexible depending on your schedule.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, check, and Paypal.

If I cancel my booking will I receive my deposit back?

If you cancel more than 30 days prior to your session, yes. If you cancel less than 30 days before, no. This covers any loss in the form of lost bookings and any costs that may have already arisen before the actual session. However, if you simply want to reschedule, that is not a problem and no new costs will be incurred.

Will you come to me for a photoshoot if it's not near the area you're in?

Yes! I will travel anywhere you need. In our free consultation, we can go over details of travel information. I’ll travel anywhere in the Boston or Worcester area for free, and beyond that the price will go up to cover basic travel costs depending on distance.

What’s your typical turnaround time?

You’ll have your photos within 2-3 weeks.

How will you send the photos to me?

I use an online photography service called Shootproof that is simple, fast, and will also allow you to order prints should you want any. The lab that I work with is Bay Photo, a lab that is highly trusted and a professional standard.

Do you edit the photos?

Yes, I edit every single photo individually.

Is there a limit on images you will give me?

Not at all. While it is at my discretion, I will send you every single picture I think is great!

What rights do I have to the digital prints?

You will receive personal reproduction rights to all your images. This gives you the right to reproduce the images for personal use, so you can use them for prints, sharing on social media, etc. Commercial use is not allowed unless separately agreed on. The copyright of the images will remain with me.

Can I share the images on social media?

Of course, please do! Just make sure to credit back to Alex Mancini Photography.

What format will the images be in?

The images will all be high-quality JPEGs at 300 DPI, which will print beautifully. You will also have access to the low-resolution files for social media sharing.

When I order a print or download a digital photo, will the watermark appear in the final product?

Nope!

Do you provide hair/makeup?

No.

What happens if we get bad weather when my session is scheduled for?

We will reschedule as soon as possible at no additional charge. I would much rather reschedule than try and take photos in bad weather. Since New England weather is notoriously unpredictable, I’ll probably wait to call off a session until the day before, but if you’d like more advanced notice, that’s not a problem.

Can I bring someone with me to my portrait session?

Of course! Bring anyone you need to make you feel more comfortable and relaxed.

Can you keep my images private?

I have all clients sign a contract before the session which includes information about how your photos are allowed to be used afterward. I can edit this contract to reflect any changes you may want about keeping the images private, and in that case they will not be shared with anyone but you.
